Weight loss goals are like broken records. You keep on trying for years, to no avail. The unwanted pounds and bulges at the wrong places keep on reminding you just how much you have tried and failed --- over and over again.

You wonder why after setting good goals to lose weight, you have learned and discovered that they weren’t very realistic after all. We have all made promises to start exercising, start eating healthier food and even changing our lifestyle tomorrow. Achieving these goals is so much easier if we have the knowledge and know-how to complete those tasks.
So how do we set good and attainable goals? Obviously, we have to keep it smart and simple! We have to specify the goals that we want to achieve!

Let’s
share them with our family and friends!  Finally, we have to choose significant goals that mean something to us.

So here are the smarter ways to lose weight and keeping them off:
Slowly

Tell yourself that you are going to lose weight slowly. Thinking of losing 50 pounds within 3 to 6 months would hit your panic button and drive you to eat more.
Losing one or two pounds a week is sensible, doable and more realistic according to health experts.

Measure Your Weight

Buy a weighing scale and
measure your weight daily upon waking up and before going to bed at night. This would objectively show you how much you have achieved or failed in losing weight.

Attractive and Enjoyable Health Food

Make your new diet and eating habits enjoyable. Mix green, leafy vegetables with tomatoes, onions, carrots and cucumber. The play of colors on your table would whet your appetite to eat them. Also remember, an apple a day keeps the doctor away!

Refrain from Drugs, Alcohol and Tobacco

I need not add more to this.

Think of the Reward

“Think and grow rich!” according to Napoleon Hill. Therefore, think just how sexy, fit and trim you would be once you have achieved your weight loss goal. You are a diamond.  By chipping away at that coal and that weight, you will discover the beautiful you.

Exercise

Dreaming and reading about weight loss will get you nowhere.
Regular exercise at least 3 times a week would tone up your muscles and help maintain your weight and burn those fats. Get involved with your family in their daily activities. This would help you become more active, your goals more achievable and make everyone happier.

Rest and Relax

Taking a nap in the afternoon and sleeping 6 to 8 hours each night is good for your body as taught to us in the nursery. This time tested adage has been ignored by young and adults alike, thus, producing tired, stressed-out and more obese people at present.

When you focus on these long and short term goals, keep the whole weight loss process of changing your lifestyle and your habits in your thoughts always…and you will eventually reap all the rewards.
