Nobody ever wants to get fat. However, it is something that cannot easily be avoided, especially if you are fond of eating high caloric foods and high glycemic carbohydrates.
Fats get into the blood stream by a couple of ways. After passing through the intestines as chylomicrons or long chain fatty acids, they transform into triglycerides so they can travel freely to the blood.
There are also fats produced by the liver and they are termed very low density lipoproteins or VLDL which also eventually get converted to triglycerides.
The liver is able to convert the carbohydrates and proteins to fat in the event that the body no longer has a need for them in recovery and tissue generation.
The fats from the intestines, also called chylomicrons, and the fats produced by the liver, also called lipoproteins, can excite the production of lipoprotein lipase or LPL, an enzyme needed to convert triglycerides into free fatty acids and glycerol.
Glycerol is needed by the free fatty acids to revert back into triglycerides so they can be stored by the body.
The role of insulin cannot at all be taken for granted here because insulin is what motivates the fat cells to produce more lipoprotein lipase or LPL and reduces the ability of the fat cells to spend the fat stored threat.
Moreover, insulin is responsible in bringing glucose to the fat cells. As you must know, glucose is the main source of glycerol. Insulin also activates the essential enzymes needed to turn carbohydrates into fats.
As such, when you eat loads of high glycemic carbohydrates, large amounts of insulin get into the blood stream within a short period of time, thus making you fat.
Such is the case, there are measures you can do to prevent weight gain, and one of the most important of these is to control your intake of calories and high glycemic carbohydrates.
You can also try certain weight loss supplements, like Proactol fat binder. This is highly recommended because it has already been clinically proven to bind over 27% of dietary fats so as to prevent them from digestion.
This supplement also delays glucose absorption, delaying further the conversion of free fatty acids to triglycerides. Proactol is the first ever pill for weight loss that has met the standards set forth by the MHRA as a medical device product.
